Antique shop

A few people asked me about an antique shop.

I found one, where we can also have sort of a «tour». The shop is one of the biggest in Russia, has a 20 years history and its owner is willing to tell you the stories of the items on display, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Apart from the usual things one would expect to find in such a shop, i e pictures, watches, porcelain, furniture, jewelry, silver cigarette holders ect it has such truly unique things as archives of the  American Embassy dating back to 1934, when the USA just recognized the USSR as a country.

They also purchased a beautiful piece of furniture from the US Ambassador to Moscow 12 years ago. Its a table that currently needs some renovation, but it also interesting and has secret draws where the owner of the shop found 120 USD after acquiring the table.

The shop boasts some Faberge items (they didn’t just make eggs)

So, even if you don’t plan on buying any antique rarities, come along to enjoy a nice afternoon, beautiful items on display and a good chat! 🙂

The shop is usually closed at weekends, but we will agree a day and they will open for our group 🙂

PS If you do plan to buy jewelry, please let me know in advance and I will send you a link to a web page to choose and make an order prior to your visit, because a lot of it is kept in a safe deposit box and needs to be pre-ordered.
