Kuskovo Palace , Park – and Grotto
The excursion includes a visit to the three main centers of attraction of the Kuskovo estate.
The Sheremetev Palace is a rare example of early Russian classicism. Dating back to the 18th century, it has preserved not only its exterior and architectural style, but also genuine interior elements. It’s not obvious, because during the Revolution a lot of palaces were ruined, especially inside.
The grotto is the most «exotic» architectural structure of the estate. The only one in Russia, it retained it’s unique finish of 24 types of shells brought from different parts of the world.
Kuskovo Park is the only regular park preserved in Moscow, created in accordance with the European tradition of the Age of Enlightenment.
