Varvarka Street

Have you ever walked down Varvaka street ? Situated very close to the Kremlin, it is one of the oldest streets in Moscow. It is remarkable as practically every other building is a church. For example, the one pictured on the right is a monument from the XVII century.

If you are interested in how Moscow looked 500 years ago, it is definitely worth while visiting
Chambers in Zaryadie, a residence of the Aristocratic Romanov family before Mikhail Fedorovitch became the Russian Tzar.

Next on our trip will be a visit to this building — the only museum that Queen Elisabeth 2nd visited on her trip to Russia in 1994. It is the first English embassy in Russia and one of only 3 buildings in Moscow that have survived 500 years of history!
