If you are not a natural museum-goer but still love to learn new things about the culture and history of the country you live in; this place may be a perfect choice for you. Why breathe in musty air when you may visit an open-air museum?
Have you ever been to Victory Park? If yes, are you sure you have seen everything that is worth seeing? An open-air exhibition of military machinery, open in the beautiful park just behind The Second World War Museum. Russian, British, American, German planes, cars, tanks, helicopters, railroad equipment are displayed. You will also be able to see Soviet soldiers living conditions in the Great Patriotic War.
Another reason for visiting is the location and surroundings. On the Square of Three Confessions you can see how religion lives in harmony in Russia with a mosque, an orthodox chapel and a synagogue in close proximity to each other.
You will see the imposing and evocative «Nika» War Monument. Its height is 142 meters; each mark representing a day that Russia fought in the Great Patriotic War. Visitors to the Park should understand the poignancy of the monument: some 20 million Soviet citizens died fighting Nazi Germany.
The patron Saint of Moscow and England St. George is depicted, larger than life, defeating an evil dragon. The square is always full of curious holiday-makers eating in simple summer-tent-cafes and listening to peaceful murmuring of fountains. I hope you will enjoy your visit!
