7th May Padare Dress Rehearsal

The May 9th Victory Day Celebrations have rolled around again and I have booked the John Bull Pub on the 7th May from 10 am to watch the military equipment participating in this year’s Dress rehearsal. Food and drinks will be available from 10am on a cash only basis (no credit cards)

The tanks, armoured cars, self- propelled guns and missiles etc. move to the Red Square at 6 a m, which is too early for most of us! We plan to watch the «tail end Charlies» on their way to the Parade practice and all military equipment returning from Red Square.

For the military enthusiasts amongst you, this year has something different. For the first time in the history of the parade, the Russian Northern Fleet-Unified Strategic Command is represented. This new command comprises the Northern Fleet, Arctic warfare brigades, air force and air defense units responsible for protecting Russia’s Arctic shipping and fishing, oil and gas fields on the Arctic shelf, and the northern borders.

Arctic military equipment, exemplified by the Tor-M2DT self-propelled antiaircraft missile system and the Pantsir-SA anti-aircraft missile and gun system, as well as Arctic support vehicles, will be displayed.

In addition, for the first time, the Russian Armed Forces military police will take part in the parade.

On the Red Square will be multi-purpose armoured vehicles of high terrain «Tiger», «Typhoon-K», «Typhoon-U».

Russian aviation will be represented with a flypast of 17 helicopters and 55 aircraft, among them the Tu-160 and Tu-95MS missile carriers and the Su-30SM multipurpose fighters.

This is a PRIVATE party and only those pre-booked will be allowed entrance. All food and drinks will need to be paid for in cash. The restaurant has many windows and if you come in time you will be able to select the best locations — first come first served.  Costs are Adults 500 rubles per person, Children under 12 — 250 rubles each.
